Fat And Skinny Tire Festival Schedule
WINONA LAKE — The Fat and Skinny Tire Festival is a flagship event for the KCV Cycling Club. The festival is a weekend focused on bringing together cycling enthusiasts and participants to enjoy the health benefits that cycling provides through a variety of activities. The festival will bring a week-long get together with activities, education, competition and more. The schedule for the weekend is as follows:
- 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Bike-to-Work Day meets at Light Rail Cafe and Cerulean Garden.
- 4:30-6:30 p.m., Kosciusko Country Side Tour Registration is at the Village at Winona.
- 5-11 p.m., the Festival Kick-off Party starts at the Village at Winona and Mad Anthony’s Lake City Taphouse.
- 6:30 p.m., opening ceremonies begin.
- 7:15 p.m., Mass Community Kick–off Ride starts at the Village at Winona and goes to downtown Warsaw.
- 7:45 p.m., BMX stunt show & Silly Bike Contests start in downtown Warsaw.
- 7:45 p.m., Time Trial begins.
- 8:45 p.m., bicycle videos start.
- 9:30 p.m., live music starts at Mad Anthony’s Lake City Taphouse.
Saturday, May 21
- 7 a.m., Kosciusko Countryside Tour registration starts at the Village at Winona.
- 8 a.m., Kosciusko Countryside Tours start in 20 mile increments.
- 9 a.m., info booth opens.
- 10 a.m., DINO Series Mountain Bike races begin on the Winona Lake trails.
- 10 a.m., Pro and Elite: categories one and two.
- 12 p.m., Category three: Clydesdale, Intro, and Juniors.
- 1:30 p.m., Kids races begin.
- 11 a.m., Cerulean Garden opens at the Village at Winona.
- 12 p.m., Fat & Skinny Expo/demo bikes open at the Village at Winona.
- 12 p.m., BMX Stunt Show at the Village at Winona.
- 12:30-4:30 p.m., the Kids Events begin, including: Safe Kids Bicycle Safety School, Wild Ride Bike Art Parade, Family Scavenger Hunt, Trikester Course, Tire Toss, and Inflatables.
- 1 and 3 p.m., Historical Winona Bike Tour starts at the Village at Winona.
- 1-5:30 p.m., Circuit Road races start at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Warsaw.
- 7–11 p.m., Live Music begins at the Village at Winona Expo Tent.
- 9 p.m., Winona Lake mountain bike trails open for night riding.
Sunday, May 22
- 7 a.m., Village at Winona road Criterium registration begins.
- 7 a.m., Info Booth opens.
- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, Village at Winona Road Criterium races begin, including: Juniors, Masters 40+, Men’s category five, Women’s, Men’s category 3/4 and Men’s category 1/2/3.
- 10 a.m., Fat & Skinny Expo/demo bikes open at the Village at Winona.
- 11:00 a.m., Mad Anthony’s Beer Garden opens at the Village at Winona.
- 1:20 p.m., Kids races: Ages 4–5; 6–7; 8-9; and 10–12, at the Village at Winona.
- 1:50 p.m., Ortho Cup Corporate Challenge Cruiser qualifying race starts at the ViIlage at Winona.
- 3:15 p.m., Ortho Cup Corporate Challenge Cruiser race finals starts at the Village at Winona.
