
James “Buddy” Jones, 55, rural Wabash, passed away at 7:46 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his residence, where he was surrounded by his family. He was born on May 29, 1960 to Clarence Jones and Ruby (Whisman) Jones in Marion.
James married Ruth “Marie” Lilly on Dec. 16, 1978. He attended the LaFontaine Christian Church. James was a self-employed truck driver.
James is survived by his wife: Marie; four sons: Jaron (Erica) Jones, Jeremy (Stephanie) Jones, both of LaFontaine; Justin (Jessica) Jones; and Jathan (Jessica) Jones; both of Wabash. Two brothers: JR (Kim) Jones of Wabash; and Clayton (Retha) Jones of Frankton; three sisters: Mrs. Randy (Debbie) Hofmann, of Perrysburg; Connie Carpenter of New York; and Mrs. George (Patty) Rutledge of Roanoke, Va.
He was a loving grandpa to: Hayden, Kycen, Braelyn, Laney, Reilynn, Rosden, and Milo Jones, and Tanner Martin.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ruby and his step-mother Marilyn.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 16 at LaFontaine Christian Church, 202 S Bruner Pike, LaFontaine, IN 46940, with Pastor Brad Wright, Lloyd Lorenz, and Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Thrailkill Cemetery in Sweetser.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at the LaFontaine Christian Church.
