Katina L. Powell, 43, Rochester, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.

On Sept. 30, 1972, Katina was born in Logansport to Arthur Lee and Henrietta Schroeder Shidler. As a lifetime Fulton County resident, she graduated from Rochester High School with the Class of 1992.

Katina was very proud of her sons, she loved being with them and watching their baseball games. The Nickle Plate and the hospital trails were her favorite places to walk. Often she sat on her porch sipping coffee and reading the paper.

Katina is survived by two sons: Keean Powell and Kelton Powell, both of Rochester; her mother: Henrietta “Rita” Hill of Rochester; four sisters: Tami Cox and companion Chuck of Argos; Kira Shotts and husband Andy of Rochester; Nela Blancett and husband Ken of Florida; Debra Honeycutt and husband Dan of Rochester; a brother: Art Shidler of Rochester; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Katina in death are her father, Art Shidler in 1973; an infant sister, Scarlet Hill; and two brothers: Jamie Hill and Trevor Hill.

Pastor Dan Honeycutt will officiate services. Interment will be in the Fulton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her sons.

Good Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
