Tennis Keeps On Truckin’

Triton remained unbeaten on the season, shutting out Bethany Christian 5-0 Monday in Waterford Mills.

Triton, which has lost just one court in its nine duals this season, lost just three games in the snappy victory over the Bruins. Shayla May pitched a shutout at one singles against Brooke Weaver as did both doubles teams for the Trojans. Hannah Wanemacher and Emma Ross at one and Tatum Thompson and Megan McFarland at two blanked Elizabeth Eby and Rachel Leiniger as well as Ting Ting He and Jing Jing He.

Quinn Downing gave up two games to Jane Wang and Kolbie Mason gave up one game to Hannah Kaethler.

Triton moves to 9-0 overall and takes its 5-0 mark in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference into its final conference matchup Tuesday at home against Knox. Triton has not given up a game in the HNAC this season and are looking to seal up a 6-0 mark heading into the conference tournament in two weeks.

Baseball Rallies For HNAC Win

Triton started big and ended bigger Monday night at North Judson.

The Trojans put up a five-spot in the first inning, then tacked on two runs in the top of the seventh to upset the Blue Jays, 7-6, in Hoosier North Athletic Conference baseball.

Delano Shumpert had a huge game for the Trojans, ripping three hits, driving in a pair and scoring two runs. Shumpert also added a stolen base, one of five swipes for Triton on the day.

Max Slusser had two steals to go with his three hits and run scored and run batted in. Nate Flenar and Zac Pitney added two hits and two runs scored.

Dylan Hensley got the win in relief, pitching the seventh inning and shutting down the Blue Jays. Nate Flenar worked the first six innings, giving up eight hits and six earned runs.

Triton moves to 7-6 overall and 6-3 in the HNAC, and will host North Judson Tuesday in the second game of a home-and-home.
