Valley, Whitko Athletes Earn TRC Academic Honors
AKRON – A slew of athletes from both Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko have earned Academic All-Three Rivers Conference honors for the 2016 spring season.
Named as All-TRC Academic from the Valley baseball ream were Hunter Early, Keegan Larimer and Jay Myers. The trio of Jared Mikel, Chris Secrets and Shay Merley were tabbed from the boys track team. Selected from the girls track squad were Amanda Heltzel, Hannah Brower, Emily Shepherd and Lexi O’Connell.
The duo of Jeremy Julian and Rob Morehouse from the Valley boys golf team were honored. The pair of Lexi Durkes and Katie Gunter from the softball team were saluted. The handful of Aerin Shewman, Audrey Jackson, Madison Menninger, Brooke Danner and Morgan Brazo were tabbed from the tennis team.
The list of honorable mention selections to the All-Academic team included Luke Helton and Eric Hammer of the Valley baseball team, along with Kane Stellar and John Young from the golf team, Kaitlyn Ott, Rachel Torpy, Abby Betten and Katie Prater from the softball team, Whitney Haneline and Kennedy Niedbalski from the tennis team and Breanna Krueger and Josh Back from the track teams.
The Whitko list of All-Academc honorees from the TRC includes Drew Bradford and Garrett Smiley from the baseball team, along with Gavin Howard, Gavin Powell, Alexis Fortman and Brigit Nemitz from the track teams.
Also honored from the Wildcats were Hanna Yohe, Haley Yohe, Emily Hughes, Emily Jones and Emily Day from the softball team, as well as Morgan Keirn and Delaney Keirn from the tennis team and Nicolas Rose from the golf squad.
The honorable mention picks from Whitko included Tanner Gaff, Alex Bechtold and Alex Robbins from the baseball team, along with Conner Sherwin, Brady Weeks, Kaitlyn Reed and Suzanne Sickafoose from the team teams, Tim Gensch from the golf squad and Andrea Snavely, Kennedy Krull, Whitney Marsh and Tori Silveus from the softball team.
