Warsaw Baseball: Tigers Clip Concord
ELKHART – The Warsaw baseball team continued to roll right along in Northern Lakes Conference play Friday night.
The Tigers continued their red-hot play in league action by downing host Concord 5-2 in an NLC contest.
Warsaw outhit the Minutemen 6-5 in the game and had two errors, while the hosts committed five.
Zach Witt notched the pitching win for the Tigers to run his season mark to 3-0 on the hill.
Bryce Sensibaugh and Braxton Tennant each had two hits to lead the offense for coach Mike Hepler’s squad.
The Tigers improve to 7-5 overall and move to 5-1 in NLC action with the win. Warsaw is slated to host Valparaiso for a doubleheader on Saturday. The Tigers, who lead the NLC, are then slated to play at Elkhart Memorial Monday, at Wawasee Wednesday and host Goshen Friday in league games.
Concord won the junior varsity game 6-5. Liam Patton, along with Brendon Perry, Matt Francis, Matt Shoemaker and Michael Neunez each had two hits to lead Warsaw. Francis took the pitching loss for the JV Tigers, who fall to 3-8-1 overall and 1-5 in the NLC.
