WARSAW – It became official Friday.

Paul Marandet, one of the most popular and successful Warsaw Community High School boys basketball players in recent vintage,  signed on to continue his basketball career at Spring Arbor University.

Senior star guard Marandet continues a strong tradition of area players migrating to the Crossroads League, which has become one of the strongest men’s basketball conferences in NAIA. As for Marandet’s play, he was instrumental in guiding Warsaw to a semi-state appearance this past season and helped the Tigers to back-to-back Northern Lakes Conference titles.

Following the season, the accolades and awards rolled in for Marandet as he was named to the Top 60 Seniors Workout earlier this month, was an All-Northern Lakes Conference selection, an Indiana Basketball Coaches Association All-State selection, a high honorable mention selection to the Associated Press All-State team, and he was named a first-team pick to the Ink Free News All-Area team after being selected as the IFN Player of the Year his junior season.

Marandet, who achieved Scholar Athlete distinction, will major in Business Administration and play for coach Ryan Cottingham and the Cougars.
