AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley High School FFA Chapter recently honored one of their own by donating $3,500 to the Kurt Miller Memorial Fund through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. Kurt was an FFA member who lost his life in an accident last spring. The FFA officers and members wanted to raise money to donate to his memorial fund, so during their annual community dinner, gift baskets were auctioned off with all of the proceeds going directly to his fund. In addition, several members donated six hours of labor to bidders and many community members contributed funds.

The companies that donated items for the gift baskets are as follows: Kerlin’s Western Wear, Echoes of the Past, Kosciusko 4-H Council, Silver Lake Agricultural Center, the Detriot Street Pizza Hut in Warsaw, Reinholt’s Town Square Furniture, The Bowling Alley, The Jerky Shop, Wings, Etc. in Warsaw, Albertson’s Sport Shop, Whetstone Woodenware, Burket Fire Department, Jeff Gibbons Culver Power Equipment, Deardorff Vet Clinic, Smith Farm Store, and the Paxton Family.
