Softball Team Rolls To Win
The Wawasee softball team crushed Plymouth 10-0 to move to 4-1 in Northern Lakes Conference play.
The Warriors gave up just one hit in the blowout win. Faith Swihart, Madie Wilson, Kayla White and Meghan Fretz all had two hits. Fretz, Kylee Rostochak and Hannah Haines each scored a pair of runs. Haines had a team-high three RBIs with yet another home run, giving her four in two games. Allissa Flores also went deep for Wawasee.
Wawasee’s JV won 13-2 as Leah DeSomer went deep for the Warriors.
Pilgrims Escape Warriors On Diamond
Plymouth came to town and stole a 5-2 decision from Wawasee. The Pilgrims broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fifth on a scoring error and would tack on an insurance run shortly after.
Wawasee responded with a run of its own in the bottom of the fifth. Plymouth expanded its lead to 5-1 going into the bottom of the seventh where Wawasee would only be able to get one run back.
Wawasee had just one hit as a team which came from Jacob Garcia who was 1-3 from the plate. Garcia also took the loss on the mound for Wawasee after giving up two earned runs and five hits. Garcia also fanned four Plymouth batters.
Wawasee (3-10-1, 0-5) will play host to Goshen this Friday.
