WARSAW — A pair of local women, Monica Boyer and Amy Schlichter, announced Monday, April 4, the formation of the Indiana Liberty Coalition. The ILC is a statewide grassroots alliance that intends to educate, advocate and engage individuals about policies that protect life, religious freedom and the Constitution.
“I met Amy four years ago,” Boyer, the president of the ILC, said when asked about their history together. “I saw her passion for life. When you meet someone with a passion sometimes that fizzles out, but with Amy it didn’t. I realized we could become a powerful force.”
The pair decided together that something more needed to be done about the policy changes happening all over the country, but specifically in Indiana. “For me, silence was no longer an option, and we had to do something and do something fast,” Boyer said.
The ILC intends to untangle prior damage to conservative policy and to counter potential attacks that could be heading towards Indiana. “We have a crisis with religious freedom right now, and people have faith have come under fire for having a biblical stance on marriage,” Boyer said.
Boyer and Schlichter believe very strongly in what they’ve set out to do, and through them the ILC will continue to do it.
“We’re just trying to protect the individual liberty that our founding father’s gave up so much for.”
