Lady Warriors Thump Memorial

The Wawasee softball team rolled through traditional conference power Elkhart Memorial Wednesday night. Meghan Fretz pitched all five innings of a 10-0 romp of the Crimson Chargers.

Fretz had 10 strikeouts in the circle and was 3-3 at the plate, knocking in four RBIs. Amber Lemberg and Ale Brito also had RBIs for the Lady Warriors.

Wawasee (8-1, 2-0) will travel to NorthWood Friday night.

Wawasee’s JV enjoyed a 15-2 win over Memorial.

Chargers Cruise By Warriors

Wawasee’s baseball team fell to 0-2 in NLC play Wednesday night as the Warriors lost 10-0 to the host Chargers.

Jacob Garcia took the loss in five and two-thirds innings of work for Wawasee. The sophomore also had three strikeouts and gave up nine earned runs.

Garcia was also 1-2 for Wawasee at the plate while Lucas Garza was 1-3.

Wawasee (3-5-1, 0-2) will host NorthWood Friday night.

Wawasee’s JV lost 4-3.
