Skylar Allen EvansSkylar Allen Evans, 23, of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Skylar was born the son of Michael and LuAnn (Troup) Evans on March 11, 1993, in Indianapolis. He played football from the time he was eight years old. Skylar was a 2011 graduate of Plymouth High School where he enjoyed playing on the Plymouth Rockie football team. He was also a graduate of the Culver Woodcraft camp and enjoyed fishing, golf, his dog and kitties, being outdoors, doing yard work and working construction. But mostly he loved his grandma’s orange slice cookies and peanut butter/bacon sandwiches. Skylar never knew a stranger; he had a “BIG HEART” and a beautiful smile. He was a member of the American Legion Post 310 in Kirklin, Indiana and the Order of DeMolay of Masonic Lodge.

Skylar is survived by his mother: LuAnn Evans, Plymouth; his father and stepmother: Michael Evans; Cindy King, Kirklin; brother: Chase Evans, Plymouth; sister: Amber (Sean) Otis, Kirklin; brother: Justin (Cortnay) Evans, Burlington; maternal grandmother: Joan Troup, Plymouth. Skylar was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents; his uncle: Tim Troup; and cousin: Carson Perry.

The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Evans family. A memorial service will be held at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, with Pastor Mark Need officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 3-6 p.m. also on Wednesday before the service at the funeral home.

The Evans family requests memorial contributions in honor of Skylar to be made to the Marshall County Humane Society, Plymouth, or the PHS Athletic Football Team, Plymouth.
