OWENSBORO, KY. – Jennifer Walker-Crawford, a former basketball standout at WCHS, is making her mark both on and off the court at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

The junior was one of seven Kentucky Wesleyan College students and one staff member inducted into The Order of Oak and Ivy, the highest and most prestigious honor any junior or senior student can receive, during ceremonies on April 8. Four of the inductees were student-athletes.

The Order of Oak and Ivy is presented annually to six students who best exhibit spiritual leadership, intellectual ability, strength of character, dedication of purpose and devotion to Christian ideals in seeking to promote the interests and welfare of Kentucky Wesleyan College.

This marked the 62nd anniversary of this prestigious honor society.

Walker-Crawford, who recently attended the NCAA Leadership Forum in Phoenix as well, had a strong season on the hardwood. The 5-11 junior forward averaged 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game as the Panthers finished 17-10. The NCAA Division II program ended its season with a loss in the semifinals of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament.

Walker-Crawford helped lead her Warsaw team to a 24-2 mark during her senior season in 2012-13. She averaged 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game as the Tigers won Class 4-A sectional and regional championships before a 47-44 loss to Fort Wayne South in a semistate game.

Walker-Crawford is the daughter of Beth Anderson.
