John R. “J.P.” Phipps II, age 19, Mishawaka, formerly of Nappanee, died at 2 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at his residence.  He was born September 6, 1996 in Elkhart to John and Becky (Sumpter) Phipps.

J.P. was a lifetime area resident. He graduated from NorthWood High School. He loved working with computers, also enjoyed comedy and animals

J.P. is survived by his father: John Phipps, Mishawaka; mother and stepfather: Becky and Matt Tice, Nappanee; brothers: Jack Phipps, Nappanee; Robbie Tice, Athens, Tenn.; John (Kayla) Tice, Wakarusa; Lukas Tice, Nappanee; sister: Amanda (Daniel )Willis, Athens, Tenn.; and grandmother, Carol Weston-Phipps, South Bend.

Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 15 at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Children’s Hospital.
