Warsaw Police and Multi-Township EMS were called Monday to what was initially announced as a motorcycle accident south of Warsaw.

The initial call, at about 1:45 p.m. yesterday, reported the crash on Packerton Road at CR 225 South. While emergency crews were en route, a second caller reported the accident to actually be on CR 275 East just north of CR 300 North.

Samaritan air ambulance was called to a landing zone, established by the Warsaw Fire Department, in a field on the east side of CR 275 East just north of the crash site.

Today, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says Carson M. Epple, 17, of 5321 S. 350 South, Warsaw, was airlifted after he swerved to possibly miss a deer in the road.

Epple crashed his moped and suffered a broken leg.

Damages to the moped were estimated at $500 to $1,000.
