NORTH WEBSTER — How many times have you driven past the National Weather Station on SR 13 and wondered what goes on there? Find out by touring the facility with the North Webster Community Public Library at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14. You will learn about weather forecasting, how watches and warnings are issued, weather technology, and much more. The tour leaves from the library as we travel by carpool to the nearby National Weather Station. The tour is free, but advance registration is required. Students are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent. Sign up at the library’s circulation desk or call (574) 834-7122.

The library is also taking reservations for another Coffee and Canvas workshop at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23. Artist Karla Hayden will teach, step-by-step, how to paint a rustic spring scene. No special talent is needed. Always a popular event, the Coffee and Canvas workshop costs $18 and includes 11-inch by 14-inch canvas, painting supplies, and refreshments. Pre-registration and payment is needed by April 21. Stop by the circulation desk to register and join in the fun.

Tickets are still available for the A Taste of Greece event from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. For $5 per adult or $12 per family, you will experience Greek culture through food, music, dance, and art in a fun, educational event the whole family will enjoy. Ticket sales end April 9, so don’t delay in purchasing your tickets from Adult Services Director, Beth Smith or any Friends of the Library member. There will be no ticket sales at the door.

A fun family event will also be held at the Wawasee High School Gym at 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, when Professor Steve presents his High Voltage Electricity Show with dazzling demonstrations of awesome electrical power. This free show is sponsored by Wawasee area public libraries, school libraries, and parent-teacher organizations.
