OH-DEER
Part of the Facebook comment on the photo said: Yesterday this [deer] got caught up in a tree and couldn’t free itself. Members of the APD came together and brainstormed a way to free it. Using a hydraulic jack they spread the tree trunk out just enough to push it through, and off it goes.
ASHLAND, ORE. — Police officers in Oregon responded to a not-so-typical call Wednesday morning.

Police in Ashland say a deer was running through a homeowner’s backyard when she got stuck in a tree. The police department shared a photograph on social media, showing the deer, which got half her body through the space between two branches, but her hips wouldn’t fit.

Officers used a hydraulic car jack to push the branches further apart so that the deer could get free.

She made it out uninjured and took off for greener — and broader — pastures.
