INDIANA — Michael Kubacki, Syracuse, has been named by Gov. Mike Pence to the Indiana Economic Development Corp., Board of Directors. Kubacki is executive chairman of the board of directors of Lakeland Financial and Lake City Bank. He replaces former IEDC board member, Bob Taylor, who retired from Do It Best Corp., in January.
Kubacki served as Lake City Bank and Lakeland Financial Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2014, and as president from 1998-2010. During his tenure the bank opened offices in South Bend, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
He was named the state’s Business Leader of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce in 2014. Prior to joining Lakeland Financial in 1998, Kubacki served as executive vice president of The Northern Trust Bank of California N.A. He has also served as a director of Federal Reserve Bank Of Chicago.
Kubacki has been active in a number of organizations throughout his business career. He serves as a member of the advisory board at Centerfield Capital Partners, L.P. He also serves on the board and executive committee of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and on the boards of the Indiana University, School of Business and Economics Advisory, Cardinal Center, LaCasa of Goshen, Northeast Indiana Corporate Council, and the Northern Indiana Workforce Investment Board. He has also served on the boards of the Indiana Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Indiana Society of Chicago.
Kubacki received a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University in 1973 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1976.
