Carol Ann Oliver, 56, Columbia City, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at her home. Born June 11, 1959, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Jack R. and Gladys “Polly” (Kohart) Honeick.
Carol had spent her entire lifetime in the Whitley County area, graduating from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1977. She had accomplished many things during her lifetime, including providing decorative artwork, public sales clerk, ladies apparel sales, public relations and an outstanding floral designer. For the past 15 years she worked with General Sales and Customer Service at Frank’s Wholesale in Fort Wayne and along with working at DeMomey-Grimes Funeral Home over the past 30 years.
Survivors include her children: Holly Oliver; Jason Oliver, both of Columbia City; brother: Robert (Sally) Gable, Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters: Vicki (Jeff) Schenher, Churubusco; Jayne (Rob) Monsipapa, Mesa, Ariz.; Sandy A. (Donald) Myers, Laotto; and Laura A. (Bud) Synder, South Whitley; and identical twin sister: Nancy A. Gilbert, Columbia City; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Johnson and Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her memory to Cancer Services of N.E. Indiana or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
