CHURUBUSCO —The Whitko softball team opened its season with a victory Wednesday night.

The Wildcats downed Churubusco 8-4 behind efforts in the circle from Tori Silveus, Hanna Yohe and Ellie Snep. Kennedy Krull, Whitney Marsh and Reannon Hopkins led a group of six players that had hits.

Whitko (1-0) was scheduled to play Thursday at Lakeland but that game has since been rained out. The Wildcats are next scheduled to play at Bluffton on April 9.
