SYRACUSE — The Lakeland Youth Center, at Chicago and South Huntington streets, has been a familiar place for many for over 50 years. In a continuing effort to provide the most conducive space for learning, growing and socializing, the LYC Board of Directors completed needed upgrades at the end of 2015.

Recent visitors to the LYC may have noticed there is now a separate entrance for the office and preschool. This has served many purposes, namely allowing LYC to secure the preschool by locking the door while class is in session and eliminating distractions in the classroom. This renovation also created a new office space, board room, copy room and an individual learning space for the preschool.

As a not-for-profit organization the LYC relies heavily on the support of the community and surrounding areas. This project was made possible with generous donations and contributions from the Dekko Foundation, White Oaks Construction, Yoder Kitchen Corp, Superior Wood Products, Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware, White’s Flooring, and AIA Countertops.
