Howard W. StuntzHoward W. Stuntz, 90, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday March 20, 2016, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 1, 1925, to the late Ervin and Cecil (Swoverland) Stuntz. Howard started working on the family saw mill hauling logs when he was 15, and drove truck for Zenith TV until he retired. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking his grandkids skiing on the lake. He will be remembered by those who loved him for his quiet, sweet, patient and loving demeanor.

On Sept. 5, 1945, in New Paris, Howard married, the love of his life, June (Gongwer).

In addition to his wife of 70 years, Howard is survived by his son: Glenn (Cathlin) Stuntz; daughter-in-law: Janet Stuntz; five grandchildren: Tate (Amy) Stuntz; Shana (Tim) Brownlee; Tara (Clint) Town; Shelby Stuntz; DeAnna (Jeremy Jones) Stuntz; ten great-grandchildren: Emily and Julia Stuntz; Olivia and Ella Brownlee; Mykenzie; Payton; Jocelynn; and Colton Town; Randal Jeffrey; Samantha Jones; brother: Hayward Stuntz; sister: Marilyn (Wyman) Hochstetler; and brothers by choice: Ronnie (Gloria) Mason; and Herman Smith. Howard is preceded in death by his parents; his son: Gary Stuntz; sisters: Elnora; Linda Ellen Stuntz; brother-in-law: Bob Soales; and sister-in-law: Ernestine Stuntz.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, in the funeral home. Pastor Evan Garber will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to the Bremen VFW Post 8972 or the ladies auxiliary.
