Bailey Jean Shafer, 22-day-old infant daughter of Christopher R. Shafer and Loretta L. (Gross) Shafer of Rochester, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at South Bend Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 20, 2016, in South Bend and was loved fiercely each day she was able to spend here on earth and will always be cherished.

She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, who survive in Rochester along with her sister: Clementine Shafer. Also surviving are her maternal grandmother: Tammy Gross, Rochester; maternal great-grandmother: Jean Winstead, Rochester; paternal grandfather: Gregory Shafer, Warsaw; paternal grandmother: Colleen Shafer, Mentone; paternal great-grandfather: Ben Shafer, Mancelona, Mich.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1101 N. 175E, Warsaw, and officiated by Bishop Jeff Walters. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
