Mary Elizabeth Besson, age 93, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016, in her residence.

She was born Oct. 10, 1922 in Bourbon, to George and Fannie (Miller) Watkins.

She was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. She was united in marriage to Russell Dale Besson on June 1, 1944 in Bourbon. Russell preceded her, June 2, 2000.

She was member of Clunette United Methodist Church. She formerly served as secretary to Lester Davis at the Atwood and Warsaw Freshman High schools. She retired from the Kosciusko County Social Services Department.

Survivors include two sons: Michael (spouse Janice) Besson of Centerville, Ohio; and Thomas (spouse Cindy Besson of Nappanee; a daughter: Carol Besson of Leesburg; grandchildren: Bradley, Michelle, Blaine and Todd; five great-grandchildren: Russell, Caroline, William, Arianna and Ryder; and one sister: Jayne Neff of Goshen.

She was preceded by her parents; brothers: Devoe and Robert; sisters: Helen and Maxine; and one grandchild: Curt.

Visitation hours are scheduled from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, and one hour prior to the service in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday. March 17, at the Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating. Interment will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
