WINONA LAKE — Grace Village is now offering free balance testing at 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. The event will take place in the therapy gym located at Grace Village Rehabilitation Center and will be open to the public. Grace Village Retirement Community, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake.

The Fall Risk Screening and Conditioning Program is effective for identifying and modifying factors that lead to falls before they happen. The fall risk assessment can determine in just two minutes who is at risk of falling. The Biodex Balance System relies on the integration of visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive components of balance. The system provides important training activities to address individual’s specific weaknesses.

The Biodex Balance System is a state of the art balance technology that will test balance and provide an array of interventions and exercises to restore balance. Through the Biodex System, licensed therapists are able to easily screen and identify those at risk for a fall.

Who Can Benefit from the Biodex Balance System?

• Have you fallen more than once in the past year?
• Do you feel dizzy or unsteady?
• Numbness or loss of sensation in your legs and/or feet?
• Use a walker, wheelchair or other assistance?
