Ruth E. YanuszeskiRuth E. Yanuszeski, 89, Columbia City, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at North Woods Village, Fort Wayne. Born Sept. 3, 1926, in Gladwin, Mich., she was the daughter of Rev. Ericus E. Foor and Rev. Edna Grace (Robinson) Foor.

She had lived in the Whitley County area since 1960. She graduated from Wolcott High School with the Class of 1944. On Dec. 31, 1960, she married Edwin “Red” Yanuszeski. She had been a beautician and retired in 1989 after 10 years of service with United Tech. She attended St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church and served as the church organist and was on the worship committee.

Ruth was also a long time member of the Tri-Lakes Lion’s Club Auxiliary, was a charter member of the Tri-Lakes Overlander’s Camping Club and was a former member of the Boots and Bonnets Square Dancing Club of Churubusco. She was a longtime volunteer at the Whitley Co. Memorial Hospital and was a former member of the Columbia City Business and Professional Women. She sang with several groups, one of which was a ladies trio called the Honeytones which provided secular and religious entertainment in northern Indiana for many years.

Survivors include her son: David (Janet) Yanuszeski, Sarasota, Fla.; granddaughters: Jaime Yanuszeski; Brooke (Ryan) Bryant; grandson: Mark Yanuszeski; niece: Judy (Coby) Zelt; nephew: Steven (Tonya) Foor; and special friends: Jamie (Kent) Smith; Micci (Daniel) Becker; Tom and Peggy Horner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother: Max Foor.

A memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, Columbia City with calling one hour prior. Pastor Robert Priest will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Matthew’s Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Yanuszeski’s memory to St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church.
