Mary Dolores Hawk, 79, Cape Coral, Fla., died at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Healthpark Hospital, Fort Myers, Fla., surrounded by her loving family. She was unable to recover after open heart surgery. She reached out for her husband’s hand to be with her in Heaven 16 hours later. Surrounded by his children, Donald Earl Hawk, 80, died at 9:49 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, from Alzheimer’s Disease in Coral Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation, Cape Coral, Fla., where he resided.

Mary was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Muncie, to William and Ruby Dunkin Dorrell. Don was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Fulton County, to Edward and Leona Gibson Hawk. They were married Oct. 27, 1954, in Michigan. Before retiring to Cape Coral, they owned Hawk Auto Repair, Walkerton, and previously owned Hawk Radiator Shop, Warsaw.

Surviving are their five children: Caramia Hawk, Fort Myers, Fla.; Donald Kim (Laura) Hawk, North Fort Myers, Fla.; Kevin (Tina) Hawk, North Fort Myers, Fla.; Karen (Brett) Harding, Cape Coral, Fla.; and Cindy Hawk, Bokeelia, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister: Terry (Michael) Partridge, Allen, Texas; her sisters: Beatrice Teel, Noblesville, formerly of Warsaw; Sandra (Tom) Groninger, Warsaw; brother: Fred (Diane) Dorell, Warsaw. SHe was preceded in death by a brother: Bob Klus. He was preceded in death by a sister: Carol Hawk; and a brother: Bob Hawk.

Memorial events and celebrations of their lives will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Karen’s residence, 17911 Eagle View Lane, Cape Coral, Fla., and this summer in Culver.

Memorials may be mailed to Karen Harding for final expenses and to be distributed to various agencies who cared for them.
