MARSHALL — Indiana Conservation Officers arrested Willard “Doug” Corey,  71, Plymouth and William “Bill” Strong, 45, Argos, Wednesday, March 2, after an investigation revealed they were illegally possessing and selling venison (deer meat).

The investigation started after information was provided to conservation officers pertaining to Corey’s Deer Processing south of Plymouth. Corey, the owner and his employee/son-in law, Strong, were involved in the illegal possession and sale of wild deer.

Corey was arrested on two felony counts of illegal sale of wildlife and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of deer.

Strong was arrested on two felony counts of conspiracy to wit: illegal sale of wildlife and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of deer.

Approximately 300-400 pounds of illegally possessed venison was donated to local food banks.

Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind everyone that the sale of wildlife is regulated by law. Anyone that has information regarding the illegal sale of wildlife or any other wildlife crime is encouraged to call (800) TIP-IDNR.

All arrests are merely allegations. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
