A Silver Lake woman was taken to a hospital in fair condition with hip and leg pain after a single vehicle crash near Claypool this morning.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Chad Hill says Amanda M. Gaerte, 35, was traveling on Kinsey Road, just south of Hoppus Road, at about 7:38 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and drove off the road near swamp area.

Gaerte’s vehicle also collided with a utility pole and knocked phone lines loose.

KCSD Sheriff Deputy Shane Bucher estimated damages at approximately $5,000 to $10,000.
