Hoosier Hysteria tips-off in earnest around the area on Tuesday night.

The trio of Wawasee, Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko are all slated to be in action on the opening evening of the boys basketball state tournament series.

Wawasee (2-20) and Tippecanoe Valley (10-12) will square off in the second game of the Class 3-A NorthWood Sectional. The Vikings topped the Warriors by a 53-35 final on Friday night in Syracuse in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Whitko, one of the state’s most-improved teams, will face Bremen in the opener of the Westview Sectional. The Wildcats, who are 13-9 this season, have moved down from Class 3-A to 2-A this season. Whitko finished 6-17 last year and 1-20 two years ago.

The trio of Warsaw, Triton and Lakeland Christian Academy all received first-round byes and will be in action in sectional semifinal action come Friday night.

Warsaw, ranked No. 6 in Class 4-A, will face either Penn or Northridge in the first semifinal game at the Elkhart Sectional at North Side Gym. The Tigers are 21-1 on the season and 5-0 versus the sectional field.

Triton will face either South Central or Argos in the second semifinal game of their own Class 1-A sectional. The Trojans are 16-7 on the season.

LCA will square off with either Fort Wayne Blackhawk or Lakewood Park in the second semifinal contest of the Class 1-A Blackhawk Sectional. The Cougars sit at 4-19 on the season.
