NAPLES, FLA. — There are a lot of questions surrounding a cross-country trek from Wisconsin to Florida that may never be answered because it was actually a cat that made the journey.

Nadia is a Russian Blue cat who ran out of her owner’s home in Sheboygan, Wisc. on Christmas Eve day. Her owners tried to find her but to no avail and they were heartbroken.

Fast forward to this week in Florida and Nadia is found by Michelle Richards of Naples.

Animal Services scanned Nadia’s microchip and discovered exactly who the cat belonged to and just how far she had come — 1,500 miles.

Officials contacted the Stocker family in snowy Sheboygan. Cheri Stocker said she has no idea how her beloved cat managed to reappear two months later in the most unexpected of places.

Though the answer may never be known, everyone involved is thrilled this cat tale will at least have a happy ending.

Nadia’s owners are now making arrangements to get their cat back to Wisconsin.
