Kay, Quinn Among Diving Finalists

MISHAWAKA – It was a good night for the four diving finalists from the Northridge Sectional. All four divers – Hudson Kay of Goshen, Dae’Quan Quinn of Concord, Logan Brown of Elkhart Central and Teagan Stutsman of NorthWood – placed in the top eight at the Mishawaka Diving Regional Tuesday night, earning a ticket to the IHSAA State Finals.

Kay finished second overall at 490.25 points, just behind regional champion Josh Richardson from Mishawaka Marian and his 496.80 points. Quinn was third at 478.45 points, Brown sixth at 417.40 and Stutsman eighth at 380.55. The top eight divers from the regional rounds qualify for the state prelims, which begin Saturday morning at the IUPUI Natatorium. The finals will take place later in the day during the swim state finals.

Area divers competing but short of qualifying were Noah Hartman of Bremen (17, 208.30), Tyler Paseka of Warsaw (18, 207.30), Nick Bell of Warsaw (19, 194.60) and Jonathan Youngs of Culver Academy (20, 146.20).
