Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

7:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, East CR 200N east of CR 400E, Warsaw. Driver: Maureen K. Mauzy, 68, North CR 600E, Warsaw. A deer ran into Mauzy’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

9:38 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, North CR 300W west of West CR 1050N, Milford. Driver: Mychal D. Loper, 25, North CR 600W, Etna Green. Loper became distracted and ran his vehicle through a stop sign and off the road, colliding with a steel farm structure. Two passengers in Loper’s vehicle, Cylis Loper, 1, and Coaltyn Loper, 2, were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with head lacerations. Loper declined treatment. He was cited for improper child restraint. Damage up to $10,000.

7:02 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, South CR 275E south of East Wilcox Road, Warsaw. Driver: Vickie C. Thompson, 59, East SR 13, North Manchester. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.

8:29 a.. Friday, Feb. 19, South CR 700W south of South Beaver Dam Road, Burket. Driver: Kathryn A. Shepherd, 19, West CR 1150S, Silver Lake. Shepherd lost control of her vehicle and it rolled off the roadway, landing upright. Damage up to $10,000.

10:59 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, North CR 100E east of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon T. Stephens, 36, EMS C24E Lane, Warsaw. Stephens lost control of his vehicle and it hit a pole. Damage up to $2,500.

3:54 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, Husky Trail and East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Avery M. Straub, 23, East Wilcken Road, Columbia City, and Christian L. Wolken, 17, North Sullivan Road, Leesburg. Straub failed to yield at the intersection and his vehicle collided with Wolken’s. Damage up to $2,500.

1:22 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, West CR 200S and South CR 400W, Warsaw. Drivers: Lucia Zempoaltecalt, 37, West CR 205S, Warsaw, and David L. Uhoch, 50, South Buffalo Street, Burket. As Zempoaltecalt was approaching the intersection, she failed to yield and her vehicle collided with Uhoch’s. Uhoch complained of chest pain. A passenger in Uhoch’s vehicle, Sandra J. Uhoch, 57, South Buffalo Street, Burket, complained of pain over her entire body. Damage up to $10,000.

Syracuse

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:

5:57 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, CR 1200N, Syracuse. Driver: Kyle M. Whisman, 26, East Dove Lane, Milford. Whisman’s vehicle left the road and hit the Brook Point Inn’s mailbox, a boulder and the safety wire for a NIPSCO pole. There was also damage to the lawn. Whisman was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Damage up to $750.
