Monthly Book Clubs

The winter book club, “Food from Fiction,” is reading a memoir for February’s meeting. Elizabeth Bard fell in love with Paris, her husband, and cooking, mostly with bacon, when she crossed the English Channel. Bard has since written a follow up memoir that includes more recipes and stories with their baby. This winter join a book club and contact the library for a copy of “Lunch in Paris.” The library provides assistance at (574) 457-3022.

The children’s book club is having music and games at a Hawaiian luau at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. Stories, food, and sharing are a part of the evening’s activities.

The adult book club, One Book One Hour, is discussing “The Mighty Queens of Freeville: a mother, a daughter, and the town that raised them.” Amy Dickinson’s memoir is about the time before she was the syndicated columnist of “Ask Amy” or a regular guest on NPR. The tale begins when her husband has abandoned her and her baby girl in London. The group meets for decaf and discussion at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
