Hugo Holm, 90, Bremen, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, in his home surrounded by family.
Hugo was born in Tyler, Minn. on March 16, 1925, the son of George and Anna (Johansen) Holm. On Feb. 3, 1951, he married Mary Turbes in St. Dionysius, Tyler, Minn.
He is survived by his loving wife: Mary, Bremen; five children: Jan (Linda) Holm, Batesville; Julie (Gary) Christerson, Rockaway Beach, Ore.; Jean (Ross) Schott, Mishawaka; Jacquelyn (Michael) Bradford, Indianapolis; and Jayne (Barclay) Grayson, Fishers; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special nephew: Bret Lineberry, Bremen. He is preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons: Eric Bradford; Matthew Christerson; great-grandaughter: Emerson Holm; and siblings: Haakon Holm; Ellen Welch; Norman Holm; and Sigrund Hadd Garner.
ugo proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked at Bendix for many years before his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Bourbon American Legion. He will be remembered for his love of reading, fishing and the outdoors.
A Funeral Mass will be held at noon Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, in St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon in the Good Shephard Hall of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Rev. Bob Lengerich will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Dominic Building Fund, Bremen, or Center for Hospice Care, Mishawaka. Mishler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
