Valley All Business In Blowout Win
AKRON – With the Three Rivers Conference title within reach, Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team took one step closer to reaching its goal in a 67-26 blowout of Southwood Saturday night.
Valley moved to 8-1 in the TRC and 19-1 overall with the win, just a win at Manchester next Thursday away from clinching its second straight TRC title.
The Class 3-A No. 5 Vikings let it fly from outside, hitting 7-22 threes led by Addy Miller’s three makes. Miller finished with 13 points.
Karis Tucker found the scoring column in bunches once again, scoring 14 points to go with a pair of assists. Anne Secrest finish with another double-double at 16 points and 13 rebounds and added a pair of steals and block for good measure.
Tippecanoe Valley only led 10-4 after the first quarter, but erupted in the second, scoring 25 points to take an 18-point lead into the half. Valley held Southwood (5-15, 2-6 TRC) to just nine points in the second half.
Valley will host Wawasee Tuesday in its final home game before hosting the Class 3-A Sectional 21 tournament in two weeks.
