WARSAW — One person has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop after an accident that caused bodily injury. The arrest was made following an accident at the intersection of Parker Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw.
At approximately 1:47 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, police responded to calls pertaining to an accident at that intersection. They arrived to find that a 2000 Honda, driven by Krystina L. Wagner, 24, EMS B6 Lane, Leesburg, had rear-ended a 2014 Ford, driven by Katharine M. Bahney, 61, Wooster Road, Winona Lake, which was stopped at a red light.
The impact pushed Bahney’s vehicle into a 2002 Jeep driven by Terrie E. Yates, 21, East Heritage Drive, Pierceton, which was also stopped at the red light.
Wagner left the scene in her vehicle but county officers later apprehended her. According to police reports, Wagner became belligerent, so officers were unable to take a statement from her about the accident.
Bahney complained of head pain at the scene. Damage from the collision is estimated at up to $10,000.
