Slow Start Costly To Cougars
GRANGER – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team could not overcome a slow start Tuesday night.
Host Granger Christian raced to a big lead after the opening period of play en route to defeating the Cougars by a 41-27 final.
Granger Christian led 17-4 after the first quarter and 29-10 at halftime of the contest.
Hannah Delp and Rachel Sand each scored 10 points to lead the offense for LCA. Sand also grabbed eight rebounds for the Cougars.
Carissa Urschalitz netted three points and Ellie Nieveen and Brady Gross each had two for LCA.
Melissa Goss led the rebounding effort for the Cougars with 11 caroms. Anna Reimink grabbed six rebounds for LCA.
The Cougars drop to 11-10 on the season. LCA will play at Trader’s Point Christian on Saturday afternoon.
