Nancy Ann McCartney
Nancy Ann McCartney, 67, Indianapolis, formerly of Warsaw, died at 9:23 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, in the emergency room at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
Born on May 13, 1948, in Lisbon, Ohio, she is the daughter of Herbert and Margaret (Martin) Allmon.
She married Ancil Loye McCartney on June 1, 1966, in Lisbon, Ohio. He died on Dec. 15, 2014.
McCartney is a 1966 graduate of Crestview High School, Columbiana, Ohio, and was a house parent at Children’s Guardian Home in Indianapolis for 24 years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed watching court shows, the Food Network and the Cooking Channel on TV. She loved her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: John McCartney, Indianapolis; and James (Roxie) McCartney, Franklin; one daughter, Theresa (Carl) Howard, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jane Swinehart, Warsaw; and Kathleen Marvel, Mishawaka; and one brother: Wayne (Jocy) Alimon, Decatur.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Alice Mae Alimon and a brother, Daniel Alimon.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, in the Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Jack Worth, Dutchtown United Brethren Church, Warsaw, will officiate. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.
