Dorothy M. BryantMrs. Dorothy M. Bryant, 80, Rochester, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Life Care Center of Rochester, following a valiant and courageous battle with cancer since Feb. of 2014.

Born in Foraker, Ky. on July 27, 1935, Dorothy was a cherished daughter of Chester and Susie Craft Arnett. As one of nine children, she shared her childhood with three sisters and five brothers.

On June 10, 1956, in Perrysburg, Dorothy and married the love of her life and best friend, Virgil L. Bryant. They shared 47 years of life’s adventures. From their union came three wonderful children: Treina, Gary and Todd. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three grandchildren.

With a strong work ethic, Dorothy was a supervisor at Hart-Schaffner-Marx for more than 45 years. She later worked with her family at Bryant Ice Service. More recently, Dorothy assisted her niece Lisa in the kitchen of the Streamliner Family Restaurant.

To relax, Dorothy enjoyed visiting her family in Ariz. and Fla. during the winter months. She took great pride with mowing and manicuring her yard and maintained beautiful flower gardens that enhanced her home’s landscape. As a grandma, she adored Ashley, Shelby and Brady and was proud of their many accomplishments.

Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are a daughter: Treina (Ron) Bradley, Rochester; two sons: Gary (Chris) Bryant, Rochester; Todd (companion Trina Bueben) Bryant, Glendale, Ariz.; three grandchildren: Ashley (Jeffri) Bradley-Witzberger; Shelby Bryant; Brady Bryant; three sisters: Helen Horn; Gloria (Larry) Calhoun; Barbara (Jim) Swank, all of Rochester; a sister-in-law: Carol Arnett, Argos; four brothers: Hoy Arnett, Lady Lake, Fla.; Don (Pat) Arnett, Memphis, Tenn.; Ronnie (Jenelle) Arnette, W. Va.; Wayne (companion Doris Lewis) Arnett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents; beloved husband: Virgil, on Oct. 13, 2003; and a brother: Tommie Arnett, in 1972.

A sunset celebration of the life of Dorothy M. Bryant will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, in the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester,with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2-6 p.m. Thursday. A private family burial will follow in the Athens Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the NICF: Michael Calhoun Scholarship Fund, or the Animal Education and Adoption Center, Rochester.
