Mary Marie Long, 95, of Monterey, passed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.

Mary was born in Winamac, on Aug. 23, 1920, to Guy S and Elizabeth (Trapp) Tuley. She married Roger E. Long Jr. on December 12, 1937 and they celebrated their 65th anniversary before he passed away in April 2003. Mary was a homemaker but she also worked at Poort’s Egg Farm for quite a few years and had been a cook at the B & B Inn. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Playing Yahtzee was one of their favorite games. All loved her potato soup and baby pancakes. Her Easter egg hunt was the highlight of the family Easter dinner for all. She also worked thousands of crossword puzzles.

Mary is survived by her son: Frederick J. (Joyce) Long, Monterey; daughter: Betty L. Stinemetz, Winamac; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 51 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Guy and Elizabeth Tuley; daughter; Mary Jane (Cricket) Hollahan; grandson: James A. Long; two great-grandchildren; sons-in-law: Larry L. Dollahan; and David A. Stinemetz; brothers: Raymond Tuley; George Tuley; John (Jack) Tuley; and Guy (Jim) Tuley; and sisters: Rebecca Tuley; Laura Bell Tuley; and Vera Weaver.

A time of visitation will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on from 12:30-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, Services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Monterey.

Memorial may be given to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
