Helen Irene (Elliott) Bowell, 91, Plymouth, and formerly of the Argos community died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth. She had been in declining health for several years.

Helen was born on Nov. 11, 1924, in Argos, to Ernest W Elliott and Lela M. (Mann) Elliott and had lived in the Argos community all of her life.
On Sept. 18, 1943, in Argos, she married Herbert “Bud” G. Bowell. He preceded her on July 19, 1996.

Helen was a Housewife/Homemaker and was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church, Argos. She was a past member of the Eastern Star, Argos, Indiana and the Plymouth Country Club, Plymouth, where she was an avid golfer. She was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1943.

She is survived by her daughters: Sue Ann (Doug) Stults, Waterville, Ohio; Lisa Ann (Boyd) Davis, Argos; son: Randy Allen Bowell, Maumee, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Douglas (Jennifer) Stults, Wilmington, N.C.; Todd (Katie) Stults, Fairview Park, Ohio; Bryan (friend Julie Owens) Hagan, Winona Lake; Alex Hagan, Argos; Justin Dunfree, New London Naval Base, Conn.; Kyle Boswell, Rossford, Ohio; and Taylor Bowell, Temperance, Mich; and five great-grandchildren: Blake; Patrick; Lola; Anna; and Cayden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Herbert Bowell; son: Robert Bowell; brothers: Kenneth Elliott; Charles Elliott; and Merrill Elliott.

Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at Argos United Methodist Church, Argos. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Argos United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather Foley of the Argos United Methodist Church.
Burial will take place at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, at a later date. Earl-Grossman is in charge of arrangements.
