Wynn L. Schwalm, 58, Syracuse, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on Feb. 13, 1957, in Goshen, to Dean L. and Anna (Douma) Schwalm.

He was a lifetime Goshen and Syracuse area resident, graduated in 1976 from Goshen High School and attended Northwood University in Midland, Mich. He was married on March 9, 2006, in St. Lucia to Julie A. Rush who survives. He was employed at Gardeners Outdoor Power Equipment in Goshen for four years and formerly worked a short time at Main Channel Marina in Syracuse and Goshen Electric for several years.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse, former member of the Sons of the American Legion and formerly attended the Goshen Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife: Julie Schwalm, Syracuse; son: Ryan (Nicole) Schwalm, Syracuse; mother: Anna Schwalm, Goshen; stepdaughter: Shawna (Matt) Roberts, South Bend; stepson: Dustin Jackson, Angola; two grandsons: Michael Schwalm; Austin Bickel; two step-grandsons: Seth and Tyler Adams; sister: Cinda (Paul) Bowers, Venice, Fla.; and brother: Tim Schwalm, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer of the North Webster Church of God officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
