Barton Ray Golden Jr.WARSAW — Barton Ray Golden, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. Bart was born in Angola, Indiana, on Jan. 17, 1927, to the late Barton Ray Golden, Sr., and Delia (Thompson) Golden.

After living in Angola, Fort Wayne, Tucson, Arizona, Fort Pierce, Florida, and Elkhart, he settled in Auburn, for the last several years where he lived up until the last 2 months. He farmed in Flint, co-owned and operated Final Touch in Angola and worked in various sales and security positions. Bart was the first baby born at Cameron Hospital, served as class president and basketball team captain at Angola High School, and owned the first Harvestore® silo in Steuben county. He was a United States Navy veteran proudly serving during World War II. Bart enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching TV, walking, cooking, and visiting with his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons: Greg Golden, Cincinnati, Ohio, Bart Golden and wife Susan, Auburn, Jeff Golden, Bloomingtin; one daughter: Jennifer (Hal) Harting, Winona Lake; two stepdaughters: Debbie (Fred) Albert, Bloomington, Bette Jo Colson, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bart was preceded in death by his former wife: Mary Jean (Kohl) Golden; former wife: Patricia (Osborne) Zimmer; and four sisters, Ruth Austin, Lorene Barger, Lois Buck, and Marjorie Pilliod.

A memorial service will be held in Jan. in Angola and his ashes will be buried alongside his parents at Flint Cemetery, Angola. Arrangements by Northern Indiana Funeral Care of Fort Wayne.
