WINONA LAKE — A truck has arrived in Winona Lake, filled with boxes and large pieces wrapped in plastic.

The pieces arrived yesterday, Tuesday, Dec. 22, and, when assembled, will comprise the main structure for Winona Lake’s Limitless Park playground.

Because it is winter, the pieces will remain in storage until springtime, when the Winona Lake Limitless Park committee will hold a community build event. A date for the community build has not yet been determined.

According to Winona Lake Limitless Park Director Holly Hummitch, the arrival of the piece ushers in project phase two. Phase one was the splash pad. Because of the scope of phase two, Hummitch noted that the committee has discussed breaking it down into sub-phases.

Hummitch added that donations are still being accepted for the splash pad restrooms, as well as for all phases of the park’s construction. Those interested in donating toward the Winona Lake Limitless Park can call (574) 267-2310.
