Marjorie J. Tomlinson, 87, a resident of Churubusco and widow of Edward A. Tomlinson, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health for some time and had entered the hospice home on Thursday, Dec. 3.

Marjorie was born in Allen County on May 27, 1928, the daughter of Daniel P. and Lenna V. (Wilkins) Ferguson. She graduated from Churubusco High School in 1946 and was married on July 2, 1954, in Churubusco to Edward A. Tomlinson.

A lifelong resident of Churubusco, she was a homemaker and enjoyed making photo albums for family and friends, scrapbooking, photography, and travel. She was also an avid Euchre player, and had played with the Sweethearts Euchre Club since 1979. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family. She was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.

Mr. Tomlinson preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2004.

The surviving relatives include her children: Suzanne Frazier; Greggory A. (Dianne) Tomlinson; and Dennis D. (Charlotte) Tomlinson, all of Churubusco; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Marlene Faye Crabill; and by her brother: Daniel B. Ferguson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Corinne Boruff-Stucker, pastor of Churubusco United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., or one hour prior to the service Monday. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Lane Burgland, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating.
