Shirley Ann Mast, 80, rural Wabash, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Wabash County, to Gillen “Ding” Sr. and Mary Lucille (Hayes) Johnson.

Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Wabash High School, and attended Michigan State University one year. She married Cloyd Mast at the Richvalley E.U.B. Church on June 26, 1955. She was a homemaker, a cook at Northfield High School, and also worked at the Honeywell House. Shirley was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ. She loved golfing, gardening, growing flowers, and crafts. She also loved watching all sports and going to grandkids events.

She is survived by her husband: Cloyd Mast, Wabash; two children: Jeffrey (Becky) Mast, Wabash; and Melissa (Robert) Swan, Lagro; ten grandchildren: Tricia (Mark) Anderson, Greenfield; Rhett (Sarah Stroup) Mast, and Jessica (Jerry France) Mast, both of Wabash; Megan (Heath) Lehner, Lagro; Adriane (Tyler) Leland, Plainfield; Nicole (Mike) Couch, Fishers; Audrey Mast, Fort Wayne; Allison (Wesley Brown) Mast, Indianapolis; Todd Swan, Prague, Czech Republic; and Carly Mast, Wabash; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Gillen ‘Ding’ Johnson Jr.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Rev. Rick Borgman officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Urbana Lions Club.
