Evelyn E. Bobeck, 107, Syracuse, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born Nov. 8, 1908 to Edward and Minnie (Hyre) Hire in Green Township, Noble County.

On April 30, 1932, she married Virgil Bobeck, and together they raised a son. Evelyn spent her days as a homemaker. She was a great cook and an exceptional baker, which served her well when entertaining guests – something she liked to do. Evelyn enjoyed knitting and attending her Wednesday Afternoon Club, but she also had a sense of adventure and loved to travel. She was a faithful member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her son: Arlen (Shirley) Bobeck; two grandsons: Brent (Lynn) Bobeck; and Bradley (Stacie) Bobeck; and three great-grandchildren: Aaron; April; and Andrew. Evelyn was welcomed into everlasting life by her husband: Virgil; and seven siblings.

A funeral service in honor of Evelyn will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Pastor David Henry will officiate. A private family burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. Family and friends will be received in the church parlor from noon to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Monday.
