Sharon Kay Johnson, 68, Warsaw, passed away at 7:12 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, in her residence.
On March 12, 1947, she was born in Logansport, to Donald and Florence (Hizer) Whittenberger. She was united in marriage to Richard Johnson on Dec. 6, 1969 in Claypool, who survives.
Sharon was raised in the Beaver Dam area until moving to Warsaw where she lived for the past 25 years. She graduated from Akron High School in 1965 and then graduated from Warner Beauty School, Fort Wayne in 1965. She was retired from Big Lots Department Store, Warsaw. Sharon enjoyed garage sales, shopping at the Goodwill Store, gardening and watching sports. She was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning.
She is survived by her husband: Richard Johnson, Warsaw; three children: LaDonna (Jon) Mitchell, Rochester; Sondra (Mike) Slone, Warsaw; and Brian (Paige) Johnson, Akron; and eight grandchildren: Lindsay; Joshua; Danielle; Kennedy; Kaylee; Austin; Kelton; and Kyler. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A private graveside will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Chaplain Bob Jarboe of Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice, Warsaw.
