Nancy R. SwinehartNancy R. Swinehart, Kimmell, went to be with her Lord at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, surrounded by her family at Parkview Whitley Hospital of Columbia City, at the age of 78.

She was a 1956 graduate of Warsaw High School in Warsaw. She was a homemaker and member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Warsaw where she received her 50 year pin. Nancy and her husband Howard moved to Victoria, Texas in 1982 to retire. There she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered as an Ombudsman at Linwood Nursing Home in Victoria for seven years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Victoria and a member of Warsaw First Brethren Church.

Nancy was born on June 1, 1937 in Warsaw, to Leland Miller and Ruby (Frush) Miller. In 1958 she was married for a number of years to John F. Smith, he passed away in June 2015. Nancy remarried in 1979 to Howard Swinehart, who passed away in Aug., 2010.

Left with memories to treasure are her three sons: John Stephen (Laura) Smith, Sandwich, Ill.; Bruce Smith, Warsaw; William Swinehart, Griffin, ga.; three daughters: Melissa (Thomas) Sorg, Kimmell; Amber (Allan) McKrill, Warsaw; Kim (Phil) Senff, Scottsdale, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one grandson; one son; two brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. Her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and Janis Engleberth will give the eulogy. Jerry Frush will be giving last words at the graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

Memorial donations may be directed in Nancy’s name to Parkview Home Health and Hospice, Columbia City, and would be appreciated by the family.
